it’s been a while since last time i opened my friendster account…
it’s been weeks since friendster gave me ‘friendster is under maintenance’, the truth is today is the first time i can open my friendster account. is it sum sort of error from friendster??
anyway, i found a very interesting website www.springwise.com u could find new innovative ideas of opening new business there. it’s very interesting that the one who posted those ideas are not afraid of being imitated by others… thinking about this made me recall some words that one of my friends gave me ‘innovator should not afraid of being imitated, they will always one leap ahead from imitators’ meaning that eventough imitator imitate ideas, they could only imitate ‘implemented ideas’, they could never imitate fresh ideas which hasn’t been implemented by the innovators.
some thought of mine would be for those who called themselves innovators and so proud of their newly found innovation but stop inventing new innovation and start bragging on their existing innovation should never be a sucess person for long term. this happen to be sad but true, nowadays the most innovative ideas may only last for less than 1 year before it being imitate <the bigger ease of implementation should reduce the time respectively>. some innovators nowadays might say ‘hey, if it is so easy to be imitator and obtain profit even more than inventors then why the heck should i be inventor??!!’
Is it true that being innovator means being success up untill the time that your product being imitated??
for me it isn’t totally true….
the logic which might be use is by understanding the law of ‘first come first served’ meaning that first innovator will always obtain competitive edge for being pioneer. the problem comes when the innovators started to busy thinking about how to sell their ideas before the other people steal thir ideas… this way they will focus only on their existing ideas and start to sell like crazy <some of them are way too damn proud if their product scored big sale> while they forget one important thing that made them able to capture market more than other people…. they forget that they were successful because they were PIONEER!!!! this type of person usually experience downward on their business by the time that other person with bigger source of money decided to imitate your ideas and create bigger scale business to compete with the so called inventor…
The idea of keep being successful even if your product is being imitated by other is not by selling your product as much as possible before being imitated, it is by keep being PIONEER!! which will keep you on the top of the ladder. innovative ideas should never gives you eternal success… Innovative mind will surely DO!!!
no matter how BIG your sell is, no matter how successfull person has been made out of your invention, you could never compete in long term if you stop inventing!!
Indonesia where i live might be taken as example, first time i started to work in a company here in Indonesia i was so surprised on the fact that in Indonesia, big companies which are becoming big because they were being pioneer during their establishment period are rarely investing their money on their Research and Development department <some of them dun even have R&D!!> this big companies are way too busy creating grand strategy to boost their sales and push their production cost as low as possible, they forgot that being PIONEER is what made them BIG… by the time that competitors sprung out of nowhere they start to panic and decided to made their price cheap enough to compete with other competitors <this is a dumb idea if your competitor is way bigger company with way bigger source of fund>…. in the end…
Creativity is Great… But Plagiarism is Faster!!!
Invention last years But inventor last Forever!!
So… What type of person are you???….. inventor?? Imitator?? or just some guy that dunno when to quit from being follower of your boss and start your own business??
